A Message from Police Department

 

The men and women of the Falfurrias Police Department are committed to providing the highest-quality service possible to make our community a better, safer place to live and work. There are 12 sworn officers who are dedicated to serve and assist you in any way possible. We serve a population of just over 5,292.

Our patrol area consists of approximately 19 square miles. We are committed to providing the best service to the community.

Assistant Police Chief Eliza Gonzalez began her career as a jailer with the Bexar County Central Texas Detention Facility in December of 2001. In December of 2004, Assistant Chief Eliza Gonzalez got her Texas Peace Officer License from San Antonio College. In March of 2005, she went to work for Shawano Park Police Department as a Police Officer.

In June of 2008, Assistant Chief Gonzalez went to work for Kirby Police Department as a Reserve Officer then as a full-time police officer. In June of 2011, Assistant Chief Gonzalez went to work for the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Officer. Assistant Chief Gonzalez then joined the Falfurrias Police department in August of 2012 as a patrol officer and then promoted to Sergeant in 2014. In 2015, she was promoted to Lieutenant, and in 2016 promoted to Assistant Chief. Assistant Chief Gonzalez currently holds a Master Peace Officer Certification from TCOLE and has 12 years of law enforcement experience.


The Falfurrias Police Department serves the community by protecting citizens and property, preventing crime, enforcing laws, and maintaining order. Our department's main goal is to contribute to the quality of life in Falfurrias.

The Falfurrias Police Department is comprised of 14 sworn police officers, and 1 code enforcement officer that cover the residential and commercial areas around our city, including Interstate-69 and State Highway 285.
