City looks to long-term saving on electricity costs with new lighting system

John Philips of Enviro-Light Solutions presented their energy audit for the City of Falfurrias. Philips proposed that switching over to LED lighting would save the City money in energy costs.  He said there would be no up-front cost for the City.  Their five-year plan would more than pay for itself because the monthly payment would be less than the money saved on the City’s electricity to AEP. The City would also receive approximately $8,000 in rebate from AEP for its effort to “Go Green.”

Utilities Cost of Service
Jeff Snowden with Capex Consulting made a detailed presentation of their Utilities Cost of Service study for the City of Falfurrias.  He presented it to the Falfurrias City Council at their regular meeting on Nov. 5. The study included a gas, water and wastewater rate study as well as a long term financial plan.

Resignations
Alderman David Longoria made a motion to accept the resignations of City of Falfurrias Police Officers Kevin Martínez and Robert González. The motion passed with a second from Alderman Manuel Pérez.
