TO THE PUBLIC – GREETINGS
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting, of the City Council, of the City of Falfurrias will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday the 16th of January, 2014, in the Conference Room at the Police Department in the City of Falfurrias, in Brooks County.
If during the course of this Council Meeting, the City Council should determine that a Closed meeting or executive session of the Council is required, such closed meeting or Executive session will be conducted during or soon after the commencement of the meeting Covered by this notice. This closed meeting or executive session will follow the guidelines And subject matter as set forth under Chapter 551 of Texas Government Code and an Amendments thereto.
At such Special Meeting, the following subjects will be considered by the City Council of the City of Falfurrias, Texas
1. CALL TO ORDER
2. ROLL CALL
3. CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is the opportunity for visitors and guests to address the City Council on any issue. City Council may not discuss any presented issue, nor may any action be taken on any issue at this time. (Attorney General Opinion – JC 0169)
4. Approval of monthly bills.
NEW BUSINESS
5. Consideration and approval of an Ordinance authorizing the issuance of “City of Falfurrias, Texas combination tax and limited pledge revenue Certificates of Obligation, “Series 2014”; providing for the payment of the certificates by the levy of an Ad Valorem tax upon all taxable property within the City and further securing the certificates by a lien on and limited pledge of the pledged revenues of the City’s waterworks and Sewer system; providing the terms and conditions of the Certificates and resolving other matters incident and relating to the issuance, payment, sale, and, delivery of the certificates, authorizing the execution of a paying agent/registrar agreement, and an investment letter of purchaser; and providing for an effective date.
