Falfurrias is the county seat of Brooks County, Texas, United States. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres.
The city is centered around the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 285 and is approximately 81 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, 90 miles southeast of Laredo, and 36 miles south of Alice. Population was 6,200 as of 2010.

- ITEM 4.) CONISDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and vote on appointing two (2) board members for the City of Falfurrias 4B Falfurrias Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and set the initial term for each of the seven (7) board members.
- ITEM 5.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and vote on appointing one (1) board members for the City of Falfurrias Utilities Advisory Board.
- ITEM 6.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and possibly vote on approval on TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits plan for FY 2015.
- ITEM 7.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and possibly vote on advertising for Utilities administrative assistant position.
- ITEM 8.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and possibly vote on approval for assisting Halo Flight with $2,000 for FY 2014.
- ITEM 9.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and possibly vote on Ordinance for Mid-Year budget amendments to FY 2014 General Fund budget for Police Department Vehicle purchase via Stone garden reimbursement program.
- ITEM 10.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss action taken by Brooks County Commissioner’s Court to discontinue the County’s pick-up of brush, tree-limbs, and other trash inside City limits.
- ITEM 11.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss possible action on alternatives to pick-up of brush, tree-limbs, and other trash inside City limits to possibly include imposing a fee for brush collection of City of Falfurrias residents.
- ITEM 12.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON: Resolution No.XXX – A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FALFURRIAS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS MAIN STREET PROGRAM AND DESIGNATING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO COORDINATE PROGRAM ACTIVITIES.
- ITEM 13.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To discuss and possible take action on Interlocal Agreement with Brooks County for ad valorem tax collection services.
- ITEM 14.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To approve a $600 offer by Edna Cantu to purchase tax sale property on Lot 10, Block ‘6’, La Colonia Mexicana, an addition to the Town of Falfurrias, as described in Cabinet ‘A’ Slide 32, Deed Records of Brooks County, Texas, formerly known as Starr County, Texas belonging to Gabriel Mirelez by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a Resolution No.XXX.
- ITEM 15.) CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To approve a $4,000 offer by Maria I. Carbajal to purchase tax sale property on Lot 5, Block ‘A’, Rachel’s Addition, an addition to the Town of Falfurrias, as described in Volume ‘1’ Page 39, Deed Records of Brooks County, Texas belonging to Macedonia Treviño by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a Resolution No.XXX.

CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To approve a $700 offer by April Cruz to purchase tax sale property on Lot 3 and 4, Block ‘M’, Maupin First Addition, an addition to the City of Falfurrias, as described in Volume ‘101’ Page 653, Deed Records of Brooks County, Texas belonging to Edward Cox, et al. by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a Resolution No.XXX.
