Falfurrias is the county seat of Brooks County, Texas, United States. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres.
The city is centered around the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 285 and is approximately 81 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, 90 miles southeast of Laredo, and 36 miles south of Alice. Population was 6,200 as of 2010.

The Falfurrias City Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of facilities and activities for your enjoyment.
The City currently has five neighborhood parks and a Little League Baseball Field Complex:
- Mary & Ed Lasater Park (5 Acres)
- Antonio “Tony” Lemus Park (Westside Park) (21 Acres)
- Ovidio Arevalo Little League Baseball Fields (10 Acres)
- Veteran’s Memorial Park (Downtown) (.25 Acres)
- Pleasure Park (3 Acres)
- Whistler Addition Park (.46 Acres)
Falfurrias is located on US Hwy 281 approximately 160 miles south of San Antonio and 75 miles north of McAllen and the Texas – Mexico border. It is approximately 35 miles directly west of Baffin Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and roughly 80 miles southwest from Corpus Christi, the closest regional employment center with a population of approximately 300,000.
