Falfurrias is the county seat of Brooks County, Texas, United States. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres.
The city is centered around the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 285 and is approximately 81 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, 90 miles southeast of Laredo, and 36 miles south of Alice. Population was 6,200 as of 2010.

XXX; ADOPTING NEW UTILITY RATES FOR WATER AND SEWER, INCLUDING NEW GENERAL SERVICE, DEPOSIT, TAPPING, AND LINE EXTENSION; MODIFYING A METER-SIZE BASED MINIMUM CHARGE STRUCTURE FOR WATER SERVICE; INCREASING MINIMUM CHARGES AND VOLUMETRIC RATES EACH YEAR FROM APRIL 1, 2014 THROUGH APRIL 2018 AT THE LEVELS INDICATED IN THE RATE TABLES PROVIDED WITHIN THIS ORDINANCE, SAID RATE INCREASES TO AUTOMATICALLY GO INTO EFFECT ON APRIL 1, 2014 AND FOR EACH SUBSEQUENT YEAR THEREAFTER THROUGH APRIL 2018 UNLESS THE CITY COUNCIL TAKES ACTION TO REVISE THIS ORDINANCE; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ORDER THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AMENDED RATE SCHEDULE WITHIN AND WITHOUT THE CITY; DECLARING A PUBLIC PURPOSE; PROVIDING A REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: To approve a $7,000 offer by Krsytal Mendoza to purchase tax sale property on Lot 2 Block ‘B’, Maupin Addition, an addition to the Town of Falfurrias, as described in Cabinet A Envelope 34, Plat Records of Brooks County, Texas belonging to Francisa Salas, Estate, et al. by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a Resolution No.XXX.
