This is Falfurrias, Texas
Falfurrias is the county seat of Brooks County, Texas, United States. The town is named for founder Edward Cunningham Lasater's ranch, La Mota de Falfurrias. In 1893, the Falfurrias ranch was one of the largest in Texas at some 350,000 acres.
The city is centered around the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 285 and is approximately 81 miles southwest of Corpus Christi, 90 miles southeast of Laredo, and 36 miles south of Alice. Population was 6,200 as of 2010.

If during the course of this Council Meeting, the City Council should determine that a closed meeting or executive session of the Council is required, such closed meeting or executive session will be conducted during or soon after the commencement of the meeting covered by this notice. - Discussion and possible action on present and future operations of the Falfurrias Utility Board including, but not limited to, ordinances allowing for such authority to manage day-to-day operations, budget issues, selection of Board Members; and consideration of refinancing existing bonds related to utility system.
- Discussion and possible action to approve a $4,000 offer by Israel Cavazos to purchase tax sale property on Lot 69, original townsite of Falfurrias, as described in deed dated December 12, 1987 recorded in Volume 120, Page 727, Deed Records of Brooks County, Texas belonging from Frances Holden to Evelyn Holden by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a resolution.
- Discussion and possible action to approve a $1,100 offer by Savannah Garcia to purchase tax sale property on Lot 2, Block E, Maupin Addition as described in Volume 26, Page 440, Deed Records of Brooks County, Texas belonging to Andrea Gonzalez Garza by Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson delinquent attorneys and approve a resolution.
